Journey's End?
It's the end of the journey. Miriam leaves for her safe place, hoping to find out more about her father's research, but it's not his research that she will discover there. Rain, meanwhile, has not forgotten the artifact whose theft launched the three on their journey, nor the man who bought it in Triaden, and who is now apparently resident in Sarani, much to Rua's dismay. And Arram is pursued by monsters of his own - literally.
