Anybody know if TokyoPop are going to be at this month's London Expo as I'd be surprised if they weren't [that plus I have my eye on the new GTO and Dramacon manga that I want to buy there hopefully on the cheap there...

I should think so, they've been at all the ones since the UK division opened.
![]() However, remember that they will only be selling the UK releases of their manga, not the US ones. So if you're collecting the US releases, chances are they won't have it. (But seeing as they finished releasing GTO in the US a couple of years back, I'm assuming you're after the UK release. )But as far as I know, they sell them at the same price you'll find them in bookshops at. But then again you'll probably be able to get them cheaper from other vendors like UP and Sheffield Space Centre, who are also likely to be there. ![]()

My comment about TP not selling the US releases stands then - but other vendors there should be (unlike DVD there is no ban on selling overseas versions in the UK without a BBFC rating).

i'd totally forgotten that there are other stalls selling US imported manga, in that case, yes, should be there, there's atleast 3 other places as i remember.
i still havn't taking the wrapping off my GTO early years, figured i may aswell finish normal GTO first it sure does rock, i'm trying not to speed thorugh it! and dramacon was a very pleasent suprise if it is shojo, it's the only one i have truely enjoyed (TBH only read a few Shojo, it Fushiga Yugi honestly isn't my thing lol ) |

I checked the TokyoPop UK site and it definitely said that the prequel version of GTO was out in the UK and that volume 2 was coming out soon as a new release.
[BTW, I'll definitely be popping round to the Sweatdrop stand and buying one of those How to Draw Manga boks that you guys have done! ]

Is the prequel originally the GTO manga entitled "Bad Company"? If so I have it in Japanese, it's rather awesome (and easy to understand without translation.

i hear "bad company" is the a 1 volume prequal to the prequal i wonder if that'll also get a release at some point, also worth noting that the eng versions of GTO: early years are 2 volumes in 1 so basically, 31 junai gumi in japan, and about 15 here ![]() |

And IIRC, the Tokyopop stall was the ONLY one selling actual Tokyopop books. All the other manga stalls had Viz, Dark Horse, CPM and such... I think. ![]()
