London Expo! A new date for your Sweatdrop Diaries!

Hello forums!! ^_^

I bring news from Sweatdrop central - as always - and this one's a biggie!
For those of you who just can't wait for the A&I exhibition in July.....there is the London Expo!

This is a huge event bringing together stars and fans of not only the comics and animation world, but also the worlds of sci fi and cult TV! Leonard Nimoy, Ultimate warrior and the cast of Enterprise will be there among others! On an anime note - the american voice of Kodachi the black rose will be attending this year!

But what you really want to know is that Sweatdrop Studios will also be there! Yup *nods*. We've been asked to go along and present one presentation each day on 'drawing manga' and also run the artists alley!
So A&I will be far more educational in way of workshops and seminars, but the expo will really give you the chance to come along to a huge event and sit with sweatdrop, sketchbook out!

This year something altogether different is coming to the London MCM Expo..... Japanese Manga comics have spawned an entirely fresh approach to Sequential artwork and have given inspiration to a whole new breed of Artists beyond Japan's shores. The UK is no different. Unbeknownst to many, a quiet revolution has been brewing beneath the surface of the UK small press comics industry.

Sweatdrop Studios is one of the only groups in the UK dedicated to the creation and publication of this unique art form. You will find them in the Anime Village offering an insight into the production and appreciation of the Manga cultural phenomenon. They will be presenting tutorials, selling their own home-grown Manga products and running an Artists Alley where you can show off your own artistic skills or simply enjoy perusing the work of others.

They will also be all-too-happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the creation of your own comics from concept to printing. Whether you are a budding Manga artist curious to learn how to apply your skills, a Manga fan, or simply someone interested in broadening their knowledge horizons, you should not miss this chance to say hello to the group.

wow, this is one i may actually be able to attend! Unlike ayacon and A&I where i am busy~_~

just wondering tho, is it a come for the day thing, or is there a oppertunity to stay overnight anywhere(also including that i am only 16)

This is just a show in the day, like an exhibition. It's quite different to a convention, but I'm sure the artists alley area will be fun and friendly, and anime village looks to have a great turnout.

whereabouts are you? ^^; I'm trying to go from South Coast of England...If you're not too far from me... uh maybe we can work something out? XD;;; I think the train to get there should be okay but thats expensive TTxTT; using up precious manga monies @O@;

(i still have to see if i'm allowed to go yet though XD i'm only 16 too >x<;...)

Looks kinda cool.

Hopefully (work allowing) I should be turning up also - being a London resident...

...Plus it's cheaper than the other one at the Business Design Centre (even though it's literally just down the road from me!)
- Comic creation can be sooo expensive at times...well, most of the time actually...

should be seeing you all there!
