Convalesca (One Shot)

I present Convalesca: One Last Time, a 12 page one shot originally drawn for a uni project and later submitted, with dialogue added, to the M.I.C.C. competition.

I didn't place in the competition so I finally get to show you the comic

I realised I much preferred the more poignant silent comic to the one with dialogue so I'm showing you this instead. It's based on the building I currently study illustration in, which is a wonderful, mysterious old place

I wanted to bring the place to life with a tale of a lost spirit, finding peace within it's walls. It used to be a convalescent hospital during the war, so that's where my inspiration mainly came from

Hope you all enjoy it, I'm really proud of this one, even month's after doing it

Destraudo: I thought that expression looked so out of place when I first drew it

Emma: That eye is my favourite panel of the whole comic

But the floors, they killed my eyesight! >.< hahaha.

Sun Kitten: Yeah, I think I made a big mistake in adding dialogue before submitting it to MICC. It's designed to work without it, so adding dialogue took something away somehow. Thank you though, I'm so glad people understand it without the need for words

Laura: Most people seem to say that about my work

It's odd; I think I learn a lesson, take a big step, then learn another lesson, take another big step, and that's why my work kinda jumps in improvement rather than gradually improving haha

And thank you, to be honest I was DISAPPOINT for a few seconds before shrugging it off and remembering I don't need to win, as long as I've learned something or improved.
