Carrie Dean, Ben Palmer. There was also some other guy whom I forget his name. Just can't think of it, I can picture his profile but not his name... This one always escapes me, I wrote it down once but I lost the paper.

Don't forget about all the forumers that come and go too. I've been here for 5 of the 8 years and I've seen many people come and go, regular posters, lurkers all lost to the mists of time.

These forums are hardly anything like what they are now back then. All the regular posters back from when I first registered most of them aren't here any more. A few pop in to say hi now and then like Missino, I always wonder what happened to them all.

Probably got married and had kids I suppose!

Well one things for sure I'm still here. When the internet was young (to me) and back in the days when I still had plenty of hair, I dunno I just latched on to this place imprinted like a chick to it's mother.

For me it was all about making friends, being good at art or a pro was besides the point. You could draw stick men or a semi realistic masterpiece but I was just interested in the people.

My first ever post makes me laugh. It's so badly written and it was a blatant troll.

In those days the need for entertainment outweighed the need for maturity, but it broke the ice somehow. Things bore little resemblance to the sedate classroom of today. There was some of that but it seemed a lot less formal than it is today, some of the flame wars were pretty funny, especially those which involved a certain Colonel of our acquaintance.

Well mob rule had to end one day I suppose.

I got plenty of good things out of being here in my time, and I've done many things I never would have if I'd never posted here. Developed skills I never would have and made friends I never would have. My 5 years here have certainly been a positive experience 99% of the time. That's probably why I visit here every day, and have done for the last 1945 days.

Long may it continue.

And of course we haven't forgotten the forumners ^_~ that's who the tombola is for after all! But Kaz asked for a list of members....which I lamely attempted, haha.

It's odd to think of this place as a sedate classroom, hehe. But times have changed a little, it's true. We've all become old and boring -is that what you're trying to say? XD

Yes well, you know what I mean. The forums have grown into something very focused and professional over the years. There is a lot less skylarking and mischief than their used to be.

lol, well with something like SD it has lasted long enough to see the transitions in peoples lives over a long period of time, this place has certainly seen many people grow up and older. Though this certainly doesn't have to be boring.

Imagine if it lasts long enough that the children of members or forumers are old enough to post here too, even old enough to become members and productive parts of the community themselves. That would really be something special.

Ah I see. I missed that, it seems adblock plus is blocking your advert for the tombola.

But I meant more the people who used to post here regularly ages back but haven't even visited here in years. Bermuda triangle.

Ooopsy.

I still consider myself a bit of a newbie round these parts, but apparently I've been on the forum for 3 years! Whut!?

Anyway - Happy Birthday Sweatdrop! May you continue to bring shiny (and sophisticated matte) comics to us!

Selina, Keds and Fred were all founders of Sweatdrop too. Anyone from the 2001-massive counts as far as I'm concerned, all the people who were on the site on day one! XD

It took these forums quite a while to get going, and most of the members weren't used to using forums at the time, it was all email and newsgroups!

Hmmm....I was in on the yahoo group days too...how did I manage not to get to the forums until 2002? 0_o

And bah, someone else make a list then - since I clearly fail. PFFFFT

But yeah - good times, good times. And the thought of our KIDS posting on these forums? SCARY!! hahahaha.

*tries to ignore the fact that she's old enough to be the mother of some of our forumners*

Somehow now I think about it, it is a scary thought. You know the way time flies...

One moment you're finishing up the first issue of Dragon Heir and the next you've done a couple of volumes. Before long you hear someone shouting you. You look down and some little git just spilled their pop all over your keyboard.

lol it's all to look forward to.

Should I pop sproglet/s, they will be filling in blacks and getting reprimanded about font choices from when they can hold a crayon.

I think the future will look very bright for comics and the younger gen each time around!!

Gosh I can't believe I haven't realise earlier!!
I picked up a sweatdrop title I brought ages ago recently, re-read it and found a little slip of paper I made noting SD's b-day and so just realised and rushed back!!

Happy belated birthday Sweatdrop studios! Everyone on here's been fantastic and inspirational and really helped me to develop my love for manga a lot! I know I haven't been really that active and I'm going to try to post around here more often - it's the least I could do after all these fun times on here! =D

Woop to 8 years of sweat, smiles, learning and arty craze!
