Started this about a week ago so it's not very old or far in, but thought I'd mention that I've started a webcomic if people wanted to see.
I just scribble directly into Manga Studio with only a concept in mind so the artwork's not really terribly advanced or even planned out. (the most-likely misspelled kanji on the first one probably took most time - maybe 15 minutes? lol) I hope it's enough to get the point across though. ![]() So far my busiest day was when the second strip came out one... ![]() I've got a bunch of other ideas that just need doodling out so hopefully I can keep it varied for some time yet. I hope people like and don't find it too obscure! http://www.drunkduck.com/Japanofail/index.php

I do believe something of the "Real Japanese!" happened to me before. Some kids at a manga workshop I was conducting ccame up to me with their eyes all a-sparkling and asked me: "So are you REALLY Japanese?"
I think me saying "No, I'm Chinese" was on the same epic disastrous level as telling 3 year olds that Santa Claus is fake. ![]() ![]()

![]() Then again remember when we did that drawing session not so long ago and our customers asked us to write their name in Japanese? YOU R MANGA ARTIZTZ SO U MUST KNO JAPANEZ! Luckily we all had a big LOL about it, they took our "er, no!" responses with very good humour. (I mean we could have been slaughtered but our crowd were lovely )... but blimey I really should take my hiragana/katakana dictionary around with me for such requests. I feel a bit of a loser saying "I can read it but I cannot recall or scribe it too well!" ![]() Back OT... but then again these anecdotes may make for funny 4-koma for you, Ushio-kun! ![]() |

Ushio, I think you should take a page from the recent SD misspellings... and rewrite it as "I wanna be a manga arstit!!" (or arsetit if you're feeling very grownup and naughty)

Ah, people like it! Pressure's now on to keep coming up with the goods!
![]() I love the fact that different people seem to prefer different strips.Yeah the Japanofail/phile thing was deliberate. I'm not normally good at picking names, but it just sort of floated into my head so stuck with it. Thanks for all the encouragement and positive vibes. I'd start on the next page this very second were I not suffering from epic burnout today. I'll try and get more done soon as I have no intentions of letting this die! ![]() As a side note (mini-pimp alert!) if anyone out there's a member of the UK Anime Club, there should be a couple of strips done by me in the next issue of Anime Connect. Slightly different art style and under the title Otaku Bytes (semi-pending title), but it runs in more or less the same vein. Needs sleep now... *dies*

), but if anyone was already a member anyway it's something to look out for :http://www.anime-on-line.com/xcart/p...&cat=37&page=1 I'll keep posting on drunkduck one at a time and upload here in batches if that's cool. I can appreciate the risk of not hitting the mark every time so there's saftey in numbers by uploading in chunks! ![]()

I know, I did the front cover illos for issues 1, 2 and 3
Sorry, I should have been clearer. I think I meant to type "let us know when it gets published". Stupid tired brain of poo. ![]() ...But I didn't know it was only 1 page now!! It used to be a mini doujin full of info. I guess the internetz killed that. ![]() But yes, posting is GOOD! ![]() |

![]() I've only been a member for a couple years so I don't know how the early days were. It's still a 32-odd page A5 mag, just my bit will be 1 page. It's mainly editorials and articles these days, so a comic might look out of place. Never mind - they said yes so it's too late for them now!![]() So sleepy, so why do I find myself holding my tablet!? Lol.
