-A Sweatdrop Fan Doujinshi-

~Introduction~

Hi all,

This was a long time running project I did with a group of people from here on the forums.

After being inspired by my friend on DA Mistywishmaker's fan doujinshi which I participated in, I decided I’d love to co-ordinate a group fan manga myself. Being a big fan of the works of Sweatdrop, I decided that it would be a great idea if I could get a few peeps to do a fan manga of some of the characters in their vast library of wonderful manga. I asked for interest and I was overwhelmed by people interested. The group was selected and after many hardships we finally have our fan manga. My pages are here, and I will put a link once the online version of this is put together (it was limited print and given out the JapanEX Exhibition at ExCeL in London ). In the print out I wrote the follwing note which summarises the experience:

~Hi all,

Gosh so much to say! It’s been a very long haul with this. One thing I have certainly learnt is life can throw so much. All of us had problems at one point or another slowing us down, unfortunately me more so than others. I must take this opportunity to apologise for the delay. To think the original idea was to release this online as a White Day’s (14/03) gift for Sweatdrop.
This idea has always meant so much to me. I still find it thrilling to communicate and support a UK manga self publishing group which thrives and produces such high quality work.
I was overwhelmed at the response to my idea. All the participants are forum-goers who dwell on the forums simply to support SD, and often as chance to forefill dreams. The participants in this project have been wonderful, always there offering help to each other and even a place to stay (hugs to Wikivic!). This was not only true of the participants, but the general community as the support alone for this project has been phenomenal. A massive thanks has to go to the actual SD members who chose to loyally support this slow, small tribute to their work. I wish I could have included more members characters! But then I fear this would have never been finished, and that would be a loss as the sharing of work is one of the best aspects of the project ( I hope )
I hope you enjoy this short shojo-esque story. The period it was created in signifies the part of my life where I have been physically ill, in accidents, depressed after loosing the one I love to another and my beloved pet rat Nienna to the heavens. Yet due to this project alone I can signify that this period (and hope that you agree) as positive that something exceptionally good came out of it. I know it was as you hold my positive in your hands now. It could have only been created through exceptional support of the SD community. So I hope the small group of us that created this at least represent our thanks and love of Sweatdrop.

I've decided to post this up now as I was intending to wait until the last copies got to there destinations. But due to post, this may be a while. So I've posted this now, as having hard copy is still something quite special! I did originally intend to make a site for this, but due to problems and the auidence that wants to see it I've posted it here. Plus it is a fan Sd doujinshi, so really this should be it's home (as a few of the members agreed on the original thread)

Lol that would be intriguing. Mind I was wondering if it maybe time to revisit the idea of a group fan manga again... just thinking about it. This was so much fun, I'd love to take the experience gained from this and do another. I know so many ways it could be improved, at least in production. I think if that were to happen, def another SD fan manga, but maybe completely different idea again
