Hello, Maru here! Nice to meet you!
My first encounter with the manga style was when I was around 7 years old. My Japanese teacher let me read one of her manga after class one day, it was a horror manga about a skeleton that fell in love with a girl and eventually he kills her so they can be together. That really frightened me and gave me nightmares afterwards!...Funnily enough, nowadays, I really enjoy reading horror stories and it has become my favourite genre.
I only started drawing in manga style after playing on the playstation 1 console when I was 12 and was inspired by the animated cutscenes on the games. I first started drawing digitally on a few oekaki BBS websites at 13 and began to develop my work. At 14 years old I received a tablet (that I still use it to this day~!) which helped me in my digital art greatly.
Nowadays my preferred programs to work with are COMICWORKS and openCanvas. The traditional mediums I enjoy working with most are biro pen, watercolour and COPIC marker. I hope I can learn how to use all of these to their full extent someday!
